Music is a gift from God. Singing and making music have long played a vital role in the life of God’s people. Worship at Calvin Church is supported and enhanced by the participation of music groups. Vocal choirs, handbell choirs, and instrumental ensembles help express our wonder before God, evoke our penitence and lament, or pronounce our joy in God’s love. For more information about a choir or ensemble, contact Ken Bos, Director of Music.

Festival Choir

Open to anyone who enjoys singing, especially holiday music, this expansion of the Sanctuary Choir sings for the Christmas Candlelight service and Easter Sunday service. The choir rehearses on Wednesdays for three weeks just before those holiday services.

Children in third through eighth grade comprise the Covenant Choir. This group participates in two services a month and meets on Wednesday evenings for rehearsal.

Cherub Choir

Cherub Choir is for our youngest singers who are in kindergarten through grade two. The Cherubs sing in services once each month. They rehearse on Wednesday evenings.

Allegro Ringers

Ringing on five octaves of Malmark bells, this adult handbell choir participates in worship services once a month. New members and substitutes are always welcome!

Junior Bells

Students in fifth through eighth grade meet on Wednesday evenings. They learn to read music and to ring three octaves of Malmark bells and chimes. Junior Bells participate in occasional worship services during the year.

Anyone who enjoys playing a musical instrument is urged to participate in the church orchestra. The orchestra typically plays at two services during the year. Rehearsals are arranged prior to each service.
