Worship Center (K-4)
|
The Calvin Church Worship Center experience is based on the model pioneered
by Sonja Stewart. Starting in Kindergarten and extending through the 4th Grade, the boys and
girls begin to learn firsthand the stories of the Bible in a setting designed to teach them also the
fundamentals of Christian worship. This prepares the children to take their own place in regular
worship services by giving them easy-to-understand explanations of what goes on in Christian
worship and why. Led by Calvin member Chris Lanning, the Worship
Center team of teachers and assistants is highly trained in special ways of relating stories to
children. The boys and girls are encouraged to participate by asking questions and entering into
"wondering times" by which the use of their imaginations lets the children enter into the stories
even more fully. Worship Center participants begin their Sunday mornings in the church
sanctuary with the rest of the congregation and are dismissed to their Worship Center classrooms
following the children's sermon.

TLC (The Little Children)
|
"The Little Children" program at Calvin Church, directed by Lisa TerBeek, is for boys and girls ages 2-4. Prior to
each morning service during the months September-May parents may bring their children to the
designated classroom where the children will have an opportunity to begin exploring the Bible
through various stories which are told by the teachers. Crafts and songs accompany and reinforce
the lessons and, of course, the children also have time to play and have a snack!

Nursery
|
A fully staffed nursery is available for small children during the Sunday morning worship service.
Parents may bring their children to the nursery (located just to the left as you enter the main church
entrance) before the service. Our nursery staff is committed to providing a safe, secure, and fun
environment for children from the ages of infant through Kindergarten.
