We often overlook the shepherds’ response. After the angels depart, the shepherds say to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” The shepherds don’t doubt the good news, and they act immediately.
When we hear unsettling news in our own lives, we can be afraid, we can wonder why, but we must trust and obey like Mary and, like the shepherds, come with haste to Christ’s throne.
Merry Christmas! The Savior is born today!
