Read Mark 16:7, 1 Corinthians 15:5, and John 21:15-19.

Read the following questions, and pick one or two to respond to in the comments below.  Or, respond to someone else’s comment with a question or comment of your own.

Calvin Church folks – do you remember Pastor Doug's Easter sermon this year on Mark 16:7?  You can check out a DVD from the church office if you'd like to hear it now.  It contains a word of hope for Peter, and for us.

Why do you think Jesus addresses Peter formally as “Simon son of John” in John 21:15?  Is this similar to a parent disciplining a child and using the child's full name?

In verse 15, Jesus asks Peter, “Do you love me more than these?”  (i.e., more than these other disciples love me)  Compare Peter's response with his comments in Matthew 26:33.

If Jesus asked you this question (well, these 3 questions), how would you respond?  Why?

What do you think Jesus means when he says “feed my sheep”?

Questions from A Walk Thru the Life of Peter:

What's the difference between forgiveness and restoration?  Have any of your failures caused you to doubt God's willingness to restore you?  Why or why not?

Under what conditions do you normally forgive someone?  Is there any failure too great for you to forgive?
