Music is a gift from God. Singing and making music have long played a vital role in the life of God’s people. Worship at Calvin Church is supported and enhanced by the participation of music groups. Vocal choirs, handbell choirs, and instrumental ensembles help express our wonder before God, evoke our penitence and lament, or pronounce our joy in God’s love.

Sanctuary Choir

The Sanctuary Choir sings for most morning services and is open to all adults who love to sing. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings.

Festival Choir

Open to anyone who enjoys singing, especially holiday music, this expansion of the Sanctuary Choir sings for the Christmas Candlelight service and a springtime service.

Youth Choir

The Youth choir provides an opportunity for all middle and high school students to sing at two youth-led services during the year. Recognizing our students’ busy lives, rehearsals will be one hour before each service when the choir is scheduled to sing.

Children’s Choir

Children in kindergarten through sixth grade rehearse on Wednesday evenings, and lead in worship one Sunday a month.

Allegro Ringers

Ringing on five octaves of Malmark bells, this adult handbell choir participates in worship services eight times per school year. New members and substitutes are always welcome!

Junior Bells

Students in fifth through eighth grade meet on Wednesday evenings. They learn to read music and to ring three octaves of Malmark bells and chimes. Junior Bells participate in occasional worship services during the year.

Orchestra

Anyone who enjoys playing a musical instrument is invited to participate in the church orchestra. The orchestra plays at special services during the year. Rehearsals are arranged prior to each service.
